The Journal of Biological Physics and Chemistry (JBPC)

JBPC (ISSN 1512-0856) is jointly published quarterly by the Association of Modern Scientific Investigation (AMSI) in Tbilisi (Georgia) and the Collegium Basilea (Institute of Advanced Study). Volume 24 is scheduled to appear in 2024.

Aims and scope. The Journal (since September 2008 incorporating ComPlexUs, previously published by Karger) publishes both experimental and theoretical work. Original papers reporting significant progress relevant to the understanding of biology at an integrated level, or whose goal is to characterize biological processes in terms of mathematical relations between the physical variables specifying the state of a living organism and its environment are especially welcome. Papers of an interdisciplinary nature, including those involving information science or touching on medical aspects, are also welcome, particularly those presenting new concepts, new rigour and new precision. Biology may be interpreted to include ecosystems and human society. Appropriate emphasis should be placed on the strategic value of new facts reported.

Both original research papers and topical reviews are published, as well as miscellaneous short contributions (book reviews, conference reports etc.); refer to the abbreviated guidelines for authors (a complete version is published in the first issue of each volume; copies are available from the Journal Office upon request) for more details. For the preparation of graphs and other figures please refer to guidelines for illustrations. A quick guide to references is available at Reference Style.

JBPC is abstracted/indexed in Chemical Abstracts, INSPEC (Physics Abstracts), Biological Abstracts and BIOSIS.
